I just received confirmation that I will start the 2020 Los Angeles Marathon from corral "C", meaning I have qualified for a seeded corral every time I have registered to run the Stadium to the Sea course.
In 2010, 2013, and 2015, I started from within corral "B" and would have started 2016's race from corral "D" had I not volunteer to run with my wife. Corral "C" is open for up to 1,750 marathoners who have posted a recent result between 3:50:59 and 4:10:59. My last result from Los Angeles fell out of this range (due to illness), so my hope is to eventually get back within the "B" range by starting from the front of "C".
At the very least, I want to sustain the pace I set a couple weeks ago in Long Beach over a course that features significantly more elevation change. In other words, I must not exclude hills from my longer runs as I did during my last training cycle.
